I just figured out a neat way to import amazon shipping addresses into paypal multiorder shipping. If you're looking for a way to do this so you can print on 2.4" labels, read on. I just figured this out, so there may be ways to streamline the process, but it is much faster than copying the address field by field.

I use OpenOffice Calc, it's a free version of Microsoft's Excel. I find it's easier to use.

You create a new .txt file with notepad and copy and past the addresses you need to ship to to the notepad txt file.

Then you put commas or tabs in between fields, so if you're doing commas, the addresses would look like this in the txt file:

First Name, Last Name, Street 1, City, State, Zip
Joe, Smoe,123 fake street, salt lake city,UT,12345
Mike,Santiago,313 8th street, new york,NY,11223

Then you save this file and open it with your spreadsheet program as a CSV or TSV (comma/tab separated value file) and save it as a .csv or .tsv

Then you just import this in paypal's multiorder shipper and save the layout. Make sure your addresses start on row 2 because row 1 is for the name of the fields, and paypal won't import row 1 as an address.

When your in the multiorder shipper, you'll have to click "Import --> From File" and then select your newly created .csv file.

Thanks. So it sounds like to print those 2.4" labels, it requires buying a special label printer? I wonder if there's a way to print those 2.4" labels on regular paper? Good information, though - thanks.

Hi Eric. For the package size, just use the "Package/Thick Envelope" setting. When you get to the second screen, you'll be able to choose "Printer Options." Select "Laser/Ink Jet Printer" and then look at the dropdown box below. I used a Pitney Bowes LPS-1, which gave me a label about 2.4"x4" long. The Brother QL-500 & QL-550 also prints the same label. Great for labeling shipping tubes.

Hi, you mentioned something about long, thin shipping labels for poster tubes. Do you do that through Paypal? In the drop down box for size of package, I do not see that option. How do you do it?

I'm still using paypal multiorder shipping for my amazon orders, and I'm really hoping I'll find a way to expedite the process of inputting the addresses. There has GOT to be something out there that is good and free (there usually is). I just need to keep looking until I find it.

Yaiks. Spoke too soon :) Just a caveat - printing postage directly in Amazon WILL cost you at least an additional 7 cents per label unless you sign in with a Stamps.com account.

Amazon now offers USPS shipping for sellers! Just found out today. This includes media mail and parcel post. Prices are the same as those on the USPS website and PayPal Shipping Center. Sellers can also add delivery confirmation for 19 cents and signature confirmation for $1.95. No more copying and pasting shipping addresses onto PayPal!
